that tab gives it a port on lake erie. just below box three, you will see the red line is the line from the ordinance of 1787 that congress had established but then with the erie canal idea, congress moved the border of indianan north 10 miles to give it a port at garrey. you will also see ohio's border moved north, but it is in the street 10 miles. why didn't congress moved north 10 miles? the answer is converse didn't move it, though how you did, and we will come back to that in a moment....
