good luck. >> thank you senator portman. >> thank you senator crapo i would also congratulate you on work that you did this morning. well done on that. commissioner i appreciate the conversation that we had this was earlier this week i do want to follow up on the issue that senator portman raised which is the backlog because as you know this is a real big problem and i'm concerned about whether it will be solved and how long it will take. i'm concerned about how well defined a plan is to get this catch up to get back to a normal steady-state and i have to tell you one of the real frustrating problems for so many constituents is the combination of the backlog the fact the return has not been processed and that they can't get through on the phone to any human being. that is a very frustrating situation and for 2021 only 11 percent of the calls that were made by taxpayers to the irs were actually completed. obviously that is a huge problem and i have all kinds of letters from constituents complaining not getting the tax refund for 2020 you have to file a new 2020 i have a letter here fr
