here's rain showing up near portola valley and moved from here to there. it's going from the west to the east. we are also noticing a little more rain going from east palo alto on its way to jarvis landing and then a little bit in the area. it may be just virga. orinda may be experiencing rain but minimal. benicia, martinez, also right along interstate 680 very light rain. light in the area but stronger near st. helena and calistoga. highway 29, the north bay will get a lot of rain. now to the coastline. this is ocean beach and it's dark stormy clouds out there but still, look, surfers are in the water. those are the dedicated ones. gray clouds at the golden gate bridge. the winds will pick up later on. temperatures 58 in oakland and 58 in san francisco. 64 in san jose. afternoon highs cooler than yesterday. no 70s in sight. sunset happening at 7:36. 7-mile-per-hour sustained winds at this moment, fairfield stronger at 18. here's what you can expect. throughout the afternoon today winds won't be too strong. but tomorrow morning gusty conditions with rain.

portola valley the rain is picking up same with fremont but there's going to be more rain heading tohe south bay. i'll show you why coming up. let show you the rainfall totals. in the north bay dealing with rain, venado already 3.75." santa rosa 2." look at the moisture that's still left in this atmospheric river. oh, yeah, it's still picking up. and then a cold front dips down. and that's going to push a lot of precipitation from the north bay to the south bay. that's going to happen later on this evening and into early tomorrow. now, we still have a flood watch for the north bay mountains, the santa cruz mountains, rock and mudslides very possible from all this rain and you can see that flood watch covers a lot of northern california, the sierra included. here's a look at some of the rivers. the truckee river and the merced river could face flood stage. the russian river in guerneville is rising from 6 feet to 24 feet but still, action stage, flood stage, still a ways to go. by 10:00 tomorrow the rivers will peak. napa river peaks around 2 p.m. that's still going to be about 12 fee
