and portrero avenue is a freeway onramp p and off ramp. people drive down it to get on the freeway to go home and when they come into town. so what you are doing is you are going to widen the sidewalks that nobody seems to walk down and you are going to add a bicycle lane that nobody seems to ride on. they claimed at one point 1.50-60 people a day when the reality a few people ride on it. it's a thoroughfare. cars to the freeway, that's what goes on that way. i'm a bicycle rider. i don't ride on potrero avenue because it's too dangerous. the other thing is 58 parking spots. first it was over 100 and then it was down and then at the last meeting we'll only take out 23 spaces. that was how we left the last meeting. now we are now up to 58. it's just not fair. they are not listening to the neighborhood. when they they would meetings at 33, i swear to god they put the sign up on the day of the meeting and the second meeting was on portrero hill. it's a bus that rides down portrero avenue. today i went to take the 9 down here. i happened to get

. >> catherine shin i live on portrero avenue. 20th and portrero. i have two issues. one is that you are discontinuing and extending the 9 san bruno. there is no way that you can eliminate the 33. there is a lot of elderly people that use the 33 stan ton that go to the hospital on the other side of town. sometimes when the 9 doesn't come you use the 33 to go home. right now the 9 l does not stop between 16th and 24th street. you have to walk home basically. then the potrero avenue corridor landscape project began, we were not notified as the district as to what was happening until the second meeting happening. there was only 3 meetings. i went to the second and third meeting and we were told that this plan was already set up and the last meeting they reduced the number of parking spaces, but then realized or understand that there are emergency vehicles that come by on 20th street and goes all the way down from 20th avenue all the way down to guerrero. that's the only main artery that the emergency vehicles go through. i don't know how they are going through the potrer

>> good morning, john decastro with portrero boosters association. we appreciate the effort of the mta team including the organization. one of the key things that my president asked know call forward it was fact that portrero hill has 8,000 additional housing units in planning that is not included in your thinking. that is another 15,000 people plus in potrero hill. this is going to have to be monitored very carefully. there were comments that there was extreme desire from portrero hill to mission bay by muni and that was heavily overstated. i walked to the ucsf gym to my house. it's to service mission bay, not potrero hill. keep that in mind. the 22 changes which i believe is called the 55, you have three steep blocks from 18th street down to 16th street. 16th street is also a freeway. the traffic, the p.d. can't control the traffic on 16th street. you have to get across on 16th street on the eastern side of the line. we also appreciate the increase of frequency on the 10. it's been desperately needed for years. it was cut back 3-4 years ago. hopefu

portrero street, i will talk about that one as well. i appreciate the supervisors office showing up for support to that one. i worry a little bit that we are missing the opportunity to make this a cycling corridor but with the amount of parking removal. very supportive of that one. 9 and irving, the streetscaping with the bulbs, i think that's a good compromise. i understand the push for the community for full train bus belts and understand the concerns for keeping the loading zones for the commercial corridors and i think that one staff has reached a good compromise. i think that's about it. i know we talked a lot about the 17 park merced at policy and governance and it would be great to continue to look at how we can provide access to the west lake shopping center because i think that is going to be a future situation. i think many are concerned with safety. we have to come back and see how things are working and make change and do some safety improvements and make sure that people are comfortable with the changes in their neighborhoo

then the big corridor project is portrero. here we completely integrated with the dpw great streets project. so this project in addition to creating a southbound transit lane and bulbs would also include a landscape media and a larger sidewalk? front of sf general and there was a lot of outreach and it would improve parking spaces. one asset to this proposal which has been controversial is the proposal to close 23rd street off to through traffic. 23rd street is an offset grid in a fairly challenged area between portrero and the mission. but allowing that maneuver was requiring a separate signal phase and is a pretty good part of the over all delay that we are experiencing on portrero because it works on the signal timing. we are asking the resident s to go around and others other options for example on 24th street but at the benefit of thousands of customers who will be traveling through this area. we are also recommending a bulb on mission at silver. this is just a small piece of future mission proposals. this will also addre
