national harbor. it's congested out there now. this is looking toward oldtown alexandria. up the potomac river. it's improving for us. that is good news. we had temperatures in the middle 90s and we had heat index at reagan national at 107 degrees. 107! now look what has happened. i feels like 74 degrees. so that is over a 30-degree drop in terms of what it feels like out there. compared to just about an hour and a half ago. 75 in leesburg. still hanging on to the heat and the humidity. fredericksburg now at 104 degrees. 24-hour temperature change compared to what it was yesterday at this time. a 20-degree drop. so, a refreshing push of cooler air. is now starting to overspread the area. this is mainly rain-cooled air. we will likely see temperatures bounce up a bit as we move through the evening hours. still have the severe thunderstorm watch. areas that are shaded in pink. this is until 9:00 tonight. it includes the district and arlington and alexandria. also montgomery county and fairfax, loudoun. off to the west. i suspect they will cut a lot of this down well before the we still have the severe thunderstorm warni
