wi,hill, -- potrero hill, and other areas. i'm including some that i qualify as legitimate compromises. mta has announced its intentions to move forward with the mission bay parking plan. i have several questions with how it incorporated community input in its final parking strategy plan. i want to say i think it is a valid argument they make that we make people pay to ride on muni. we should make people pay for parking. i am not opposed to us charging residents, people that come in from outside san francisco, and businesses to park in our neighborhoods. i want to explore more alternatives in terms of how we can do that. i think metering, especially in some of residents -- some of our residential neighborhoods, mixed-use neighborhood on the side, it is often a bit more challenging than a more traditional neighborhoods where you have clear commercial corridors and residential areas. as you move forward, the city is doing mixed-use neighborhoods, i think this conversation certainly deserves some dialogue as to how we can do this

potrero hill, which are differ neighborhoods, but overall, there is a higher population of youth and a higher percentage of people that have cars. if we look at land uses on broadway, we see residential uses, a bunch of affordable housing projects. there is also an elementary school and a preschool. a lot of neighborhood serving retail in particular on the ground floor, and a lot of visitors and tourist attractions. chinatown is a major tourist destination for the city and the region. on cesar chavez, there's a large housing project just north of the street. there is an elementary school and a lot of industrial uses. the area just south was retained as our core pdr district. both of the streets are wide materials with pretty fast- moving traffic. broadway is a really important east/west connection, and we see cars moving pretty fast as they enter and exit the tunnel. as he is also a pretty flat street compared to neighborhoods around it, and that could be in terms of thinking about how the street is used. if we look at job as -- cesar chavez, it is also a wide arterial and a really i

we don't have people talking to the potrero hill association. all of these different fragmented conversations are happening. there largely talking about the same thing, crime, keeping streets clean, businesses, supporting small businesses, maintaining and making sure the city is livable for everyone. no one really looked to their neighbors. they stayed within their neighborhood, but did not reach beyond the boundaries. that is one thing i saw that i actually made a concerted effort on the campaign to build bridges. for me, that goes beyond the neighborhood. it goes to connecting the southeast to the large part of san francisco, wake up, we're out here. we want bike paths, dog parks, open space. we no longer want to have a neighborhood or a reputation of a crime-filled community. the other thing that i learned is really, we are all human. how to connect with that spirit, whether you're living in public housing, owning your own property, your asian, african american, we are all one. we are a community. when we realize and move in the direction of
