as we all know, potrero hill has traditionally been a neighborhood that was red lined. you couldn't get mortgages in the neighborhood back in the day, and in the 70s, it was just invested in city infrastructure. now we're in this development, excessive overdevelopment in this area that it's housing, etc. -- this is obsolete because it does not include bridge development, but we have massive overdevelopment of housing. and if you go back toward 2008, we were promised at least four acres of new space -- of park space, and we were also promised that existing infrastructure would be improved. i'd like to share with you what we have actually with the parks as you can see in the green, we only have three spaces that actually can have programmed recreation on it. the red spaces that are supposed to be open space cannot have recreation programmed on it. what i'm here to do is to urge your support for the parks bond to include jackson playground. we've already had some people talk about there's a little bit of improvement on the space, and -- but it's seriously lacking for the n

hill, evident in her creation of the grandparents proof of potrero hill and evident in her willingness to be a foster parent for many years in treating all children as her own she did everything with class, dignity, and independence as she -- and she did it her way. she was educated and worked hard to give her children, and those she served a better life. her mother died when she was three years old and she was the youngest of all of her siblings and raised by her grandmother, which is probably why she had such a big heart and opened her life to everyone. on a personal note, she opened her home to my mother and i i was younger and we were going through a life transition and has been a constant in my life. she gave me my first job when i returned home to san francisco at the potrero hill family resource center and played a pivotal role in me being here today. she taught me to fight for what i believe in, and showed me that healthy competition is a positive. she never judged me and didn't hesitate to put me in my place when i was out of line, and acted in a manner that was less dignified

seven, eight years of it was in san francisco, out at star king elementary school, which is out in potrero hill. it's always been my dream to live in the city that i serve and to eventually buy a home. and because of the down payment assistance loan program and the mayor's office of housing and community and development, i am actually living the impossible san francisco dream right now. as of last week, i closed on a property in san francisco, yeah. before 2014, we've seen them failing at various locations across the city, including hyde and 24 and potrero avenue. it's hard to build support for urban forestry if we have large trees blocking streets from time to time. this is how large ficus trees are failing us and splitting apart. multiple stems are fairly equal size with various levels of attachment. absolutely the first thing we ever consider when evaluating a tree if we find that it has poor structure is can we mitigate safety concerns through pruning? that's the first thing that typically crosses our mind. we've seen across the city a large number of failures in several different neighborhoods. the department of public works lowered the threshold when we could approve a tree for removal, which is essentially lessening reducing our typically high threshold, and we're saying. if these trees are large, and they have codominant stems, this is a tree we're likely to approve for removal. this picture, we have two stems on the main trunk. so what happens naturally is that in wind or not even in wind, these trees split apart at these secti
