local 5's claire powell is here with more details. christmas morning, the guthrie county sheriff was investigating an attempted robbery north of menlo. after realizing nothing was taken- they scanned other nearby farms as well. thats when they found a carcass, tire tracks and a blood trail leading them to the butchered cow. as warning, some of the photos and video we're about to show are graphic. we've blurred out a majority of partlows photos. showing the four year old, pregnant cow that was first shot, then be- headed, then sawed in half. the back half was dragged out of the field and taken by the suspects. the sheriff believes multiple people trespassed onto the property, then used saws, knives and a gun to illegally kill the cow. they found two sets of tire tracks- one from a car, the other from a pick up truck, but as of right now do not have a description of either. they say the attempted robbery and butchering are connected and now want the publics help.
