one reminder, the powerpoint showing before the session were done by the longwood professor michael has an exhibit in the ferguson gallery downtown. you can see the exhibits of the old appomattox campaign markers superimposed by the current landscape and they are impressive. if you are interested that is down by green front, the big furniture place. i was hoping they would get it to me but they didn't but as i mentioned yesterday farmville will be having some different exhibits presentations related to long braids -- i am from florida, the natural bridge battle is what i am thinking of, but high bridge is what i am thinking of. you can go to the farmville website and see what they are going to have going on related to high bridge. i think that is pretty much it in terms of general information. i want to go ahead and introduce the first speaker for the morning. bert dunkerly is a historian, an award-winning author. he has a degree in history from st. vincent college and a masters in preservation. he has worked at nine different historic sites most recently am currently at the richmond na

i do have a powerpoint for a visual aid. to start off going with the local host committee. it is as phil mentioned a whole list of san francisco bay area public, private and non-profit organizations that are collaborating to ensure that the local story is woven into the overall program offered in the conference. as the lead host committee rpd has been responsible for developing weekend tours and mobile workshops, suggesting and providing local speakers and leaders, bringing in volunteers, organize a volunteer service day, as well as recommend and secure venues for special events. we are anticipating 600 attendees from around the world, as well as our domestic friends from states such as texas, ohio, new york and washington, just to name a few. vips for this conference include well-known leaders such as john jarvis director of the national park service and the founder and chair of the 8-80 cities. a special luncheon mayor forum will bring together mayor betsy price from the city of for the worth and mayor murray from the city of seattle for the support of urban parks. in add

i will report on february attendance, if i can go to the computer, the powerpoint, please. we were over 70,000 visitors. as you see budget, 59,000. this is the highest february attendance ever, since the non-profit took over management. i know part of it has to do with the weather, but i also think it's the good works of staff as well. i would like to report on free admissions year-to-date, we have over 65,000 folks come through the zoo for free. as a reminder all public schoolchildren come through the zoo for three free we're over 606,000 visitors over budget by 78,000 folks. for those who like it visually, there is it going the right way, going up. the actual there is the blue. the budget is the red. and the green is last year's numbers. you can see that we have been consistently beating budget and last year's attendance numbers. now i don't want to jinx it, but if it goes this well, we could possibly have a million visitors this fiscal year -- of course i just jinxed by saying that. so our next slide and i'm going to to jump back to the powerpoint ladies. our last slide i wanted to focus a little bit on our cop holders. there is can you remember 750 cop holders actively. i'm happy to report that 73 new certificates were issued in 2014. we successfully housed 23 cop holders last year. one of those was a home ownership and 22 were in rentals. three of those households returned from out of the areas. so contra -- contra costa alameda counties. i took an average on the ami's study and they were about 44 percent. to me what that means we can work on maybe seeing if some of our cop holders are eligible to buy because they can use their certificate twice. the reality is that some people may not want to buy. i think there is going to be more outreach around something we can do to see if there is an option for them on the long-term, get them into counseling and if it's something they can work on, we can definitely put that on the list. sometimes you need that encouraging with people if it's happening with families and associating circles. there

if i can go to the powerpoint slide. san francisco is a beautiful city because of its hill sides but that creates certain challenges for us during storms. in particular san francisco has eight independent watersheds or eight independent valleys that have collection points during storms so as a city we need to develop a system that can effectively collect from all of the eight watersheds and deal with the storms as they come. as a combined sewer system we actually capture 94% of the rain that hit it is the city -- hits the city and treat it and discharge. in that regard we're ahead of many cities in the united states and don't collect the storm water and therefore making a positive environmental change. if you look at this area it's a large watershed, one of the largest that we have and water actual collects all the way far northeast north of the panhandle and naturally flows down in the southeast direction down to 17th and folsom so it's a large collection area that is the natural topography of the city. also part of thi
