we are kind of getting ramped up on our powerpoint, we are here to provide an overview of the game plan and the challenges and the opportunities for the 2020 census. as supervisor fewer and city administrator kelly said, this is not going to be an easy process this time around. it is never an easy process, but i thank you know that it is particularly challenging for 2020. just a little bit of background about our office and how we ended up with -- i think we may have switched to the slide presentation, so ten years ago, we were a startup office. we only had three staff, no funding, and we had a big job. we were asked to oversee language, access and immigrant rights, the 2010 census and community safety. so we have always focused all of our work, and we have learned a lot over the last ten years, particularly from our wonderful community partners. those of us who come from the community know that the goal of our office is to really embrace our community driven initiatives and efforts. so we've learned a lot over the last ten years, as i'm just going to go quickly through the next slide.
