the wilderness program did a hike with middle school students through the presidio. we had the first meeting in our effort to try to raise the high- school graduation rates. we piloted the first meeting along with the sergeant, it was well received. we will try to do that with other agencies to try to demonstrate the types of jobs you can get with just a high- school diploma and how much better year situation gets if you go on to get the college degree that every young person needs. we participated in the veterans day parade, monday night, and i appreciate the commissioners being there. we have reinstituted the retirement ceremony that was instituted. it was very well-received by the retiring officers. a lot of standing officers were there. i know that there are corn issues, but it is something that you can really see how important is that officers get closure to this vocation profession that we are in a verse is just turning your things and after 30 years and you are out the door. it was amazing how many people took the time to come back to participate in the 20-min
