have some issues that come out -- came up in terms of the funding of the second phase for the presidio parkway. we just had a meeting with the mayor to discuss that. as you may be aware, that project will be delivered through a public-private partnership. we are very excited to see that move forward. as you know, the first phase is nearing completion. the public-private partnership provides an opportunity to demonstrate that we can deliver on time on schedule, and frankly, transfer and a majority of the risk to the private- sector while at the same time capitalizing on the benefits that they provide. we have a funding strategy for closing the budget cap that has been identified. i did not want to go into the specifics of that but i want to thank the county transportation authority staff for their work in making that happen, as well as the mayor's office, for their collaboration and assistance from the mtc > let me also -- mtc. let me also talk about what is happening around high-speed rail. i want to thank commissioner wiener and his staff for highlighting the issue and forgetting all the city

the chair already mentioned the agreement on the presidio parkway second phase funding. i will not review that again. we also have underway the process for getting the van ness brt project on the ground, the draft eir eis was released in november 2011. the project has already been mentioned, named the top performer for small start at the federal for the third year in a row by that ftfederal transit administration. there will also be a parallel decision at the mta board. we will be working with them to have that be the best course of the city. a total expected cost of $125 million. geary corridor has also made progress. they are essentially hoping to present designs in spring 2012, the cost expected to be around $215 million. transbay transit center has made a lot a progress this year, $70 million demolition contract completed, 185 million contract excavation for the but his work. that is under way. above grade construction package is 90% complete. we are essentially all go on the first phase. the second phase, however, we have a shortfall. that will be the focus of commi
