three people were seriously injured here in preston. if you look at some of the destruction, some of the damage here, it's hard to believe that number isn't higher. take a look at this apartment building right behind me. half of the roof ripped completely off. now, officials here believe that a dozen homes, an apartment building, and even a library were completely destroyed. they need to wait until daylight until they can see the full destruction that they're dealing with. 20 to 30 people spent the night in a red cross shelter overnight. and just down the street from us, a hospital took a direct hit from this tornado. about 20 patients inside were evacuated. thankfully, no one was hurt. they were all taken to other medical centers. coincidentally, this town about a week and a half ago practiced a tornado drill. practiced exactly how to respond to a disaster, just like this one, officials say it paid off. they were very lucky. everyone here survived, paula. >> clayton, thanks for that report. 98 of the 120 reported tornadoes touching dow
