supervisor preston. >> thank you, madam clerk. colleagues, today i'm introducing an extension of our local moratorium from june 30th, 2021. let me start by noting, if it pears to be colleagues, like i'm introducing a anti eviction law your perception is not that far off. it's worth asking why that is. i believe the problem really stems from the fact that the governor and state legislature have not done their jobs to prevent evictions. trump did as much as governor newsmo on this topic. it's to protect our residents and the state has gotten in the way, more than it has helped when it comes to san francisco tenants. the more sensible way to deal with this would be a moratorium on evictions from the governor of the state of california for the duration of this pandemic. something that this board unanimously supported by resolution in april of 2020. but until that day comes, we will continue doing everything possible at the local level and hence the ordinance that i am introducing today. the california legislature recently enabled sb91
