nbc's priscilla thompson is in dadeville with more on the shooting there priscilla, what is the latest chris, police here are not saying much at all about this case. they have not given any details about possible leads, about how this unfolded. they have not identified a suspect publicly, nor have they announced any arrest or provided the names of the victims all they have said is there were four people killed and 28 people injured and a number of those people were in critical condition. i should point out, though, we were able to confirm the names of the four people killed by the coroner's office telling us those four people include core vin holston, a 23-year-old black male, shawn kyiv yeah smith, a 17-year-old black female and philstavious dowdell, an 18-year-old black male we had an opportunity to speak with some of his classmates. he was a star high school football player here expected to go off to play in collegiate jacksonville state in the fall i want to play some of what his teammates had to say about how they're feeling right now. take a listen. >> did you ever think anything

according to priscilla thompson, who is on the scene for us there. priscilla, welcome, what are you learning at this tragic hour? >> yeah,, alex police are now naming this murder in this case. identifying him as 38-year-old, francisco or up hazza. police say he is a mexican national and is being charged with five counts of murder and police say he is two miles from here and have established a perimeter and are using dogs and officers on horseback and drones that are working to track him in order to locate him. the sheriff is saying that he hopes to have the suspect in custody within the next couple of oropeza hours, and this information comes as we learn more about how this unfolded overnight, what you see behind, me this is the fence that houses off the suspected shooter's home. officials say that the neighbor went over to the fence to ask him if he could stop shooting his ar-15 in the current yard because they were trying to keep a baby, or put a baby to sleep and after that the suspected shooter walked over to the home, walked in and began firing a

nbc news's priscilla thompson joins us now, once again, from cleveland, texas. take us there, priscilla. we are awaiting word. any updates on the apprehension of the suspect? >> yasmin i am told that there will only be an update from law enforcement if the suspect is apprehended. i will tell you what we are seeing on the ground here. there has been state law enforcement. the fbi. walking through the neighborhood talking to neighbor, searching homes and vehicles this investigation is clearly still ongoing. we know that yesterday a official believe they had a perimeter around the suspect. they were speaking to someone who have been in contact with him every couple of hours. it seemed as though they were closing in on the suspect. we learned late yesterday that law enforcement officials found a cell phone and clothing of the suspect but they did not actually find him. after that, the dogs that we're tracking him lost his scent. it is unclear where this investigation goes from here. we know that there are multiple agencies on the ground here still searching. last wor

nbc's priscilla thompson joining us now on the phone from cleveland texas. just north of houston. priscilla walk us through this. we heard from the chief yesterday. he mentioned they had this suspect within an area courted of. they had him under arrest. here we are 24 hours later. and they're still searching for him. where do they expect the suspect is now and the likelihood they would apprehend him? >> yeah, yasmin, officials were sounding very company astray. expecting they would be able to locate the suspect within hours of his having fled. obviously, that has not been the case. authorities updating yesterday saying that he could be anywhere. they're talking about 10 to 20 mile radius or further that he could potentially be yesterday they were very heavily focused on a wooded area. a few miles from the scene. they had a law enforcement on horseback they. had dogs out there tracking -- they also had a heat sensing drone looking for him. we've been told that time that investigators were in touch with someone who had been in communication with the suspect. what we've learned yester

nbc's, priscilla thompson, covering this story. priscilla, talk to us. how exactly are they seein justin jones who represent parts of nashville, around 100 000, people returning to the state capital so quickly could his colleague be next? >> yes absolutely the way this works is this decision now goes to the counties to appoint someone to serve in the interim and wha nashville metro council ha decided to do, the lawmakers have signaled that they ar going to hold a meeting on monday they're gonna suspend the rule that would require them to wai for weeks to appoint someone after announcing this vacancy. they're gonna go ahead and tak the vote to reinstate former representative, justin, jones. that decision would go int effect immediately and we could see a similar situation happening for former representative, justin pearce, down in memphis and shelby county if the officials they're choos to do, that they have no scheduled their initia meeting. so we're still waiting on that but as for what comes next after that the governor will set a date for a special el

nbc's priscilla thompson is in cleveland, texas with the latest. priscilla, tell us the status of the surge and what more can you tell us about the victims, and what authorities saintly up to this? >> yes lindsey, certainly disappointing news on in terms of the effort earlier today. they thought that they were closing in on the suspect, but officials confirmed that they were able to track to an area where they found a cell phone enclosed in the suspect, but they had not found the suspect, and officials say that the dogs that we're tracking him have lost his scent and that the suspect could effectively be anywhere at this point and we know that there are several agencies on the ground here still searching, including the u.s. marshals, the county, and state investigators. but that the fbi is now taking over this investigation. i want to play a little bit of what we heard from the fbi at this press conference moments ago. >> we are not going to stop until we actually arrest him and put him into custody. but he is out there and he is a threat to the com

nbc's priscilla thompson is right there in nashville for us. priscilla, good morning. >> reporter: hey, hoda, good morning. that fiery debate is expected to be front and center here in tennessee. in just a few hours, hundreds of demonstrators are expected to flood the state capitol here, as proceedings get underway for the possible expulsion of three democratic lawmakers. representatives gloria johnson, justin jones, and justin pearson will all take to the house floor to defend their case as republicans have filed a resolution to oust them after they joined with demonstrators last week taking to the house floor to demand action on gun reform. this would be an unprecedented move, this possible expulsion. this only happened twice in tennessee since the civil war. and it comes as around the country students have walked out of classrooms demanding action on gun reform. students are demonstrating. marches around the country as people call for change. so certainly, all eyes on the tennessee state legislature here as this session gets under way here t

. >> i want to turn to nbc's priscilla thompson who is live at the tennessee state capitol priscilla,cliche to say what's the energy like down there? we know what the energy is like. what are you hearing from people who aren't directly in the crowd? are you hearing people say, oh, my gosh, i think we have opened up a pandora's box, we have activated people in a way we haven't expected have you heard people say i'm disappointed what are you hearing outside of the main crowd about how people feel about what's going on right now? >> yeah, i think there's some disappointment for sure, jason i spoke to someone just after that first vote was cast and it was determined that representative justin jones would be expelled, and this woman had tears in her eyes, and she said she felt like this was a moment of losing faith in our democracy, that she has supported him, that she did not expect that this would actually happen and she was just in disbelief that it had happened folks are still energized. they have been here since early this morning, many waiting to see how all of this was going to turn

. >> bill karins is, of course, tracking what is on the way for us but first we start with priscilla thompson in cole, oklahoma. hey, priscilla, what do recovery efforts look like at this point? >> yeah, well, savannah, vicky, right now they look like people coming back to homes like this one with the walls falling off the roof, completely taken off and trying to salvage what they can as they figure out what their next steps are going to be. we know that the couple who lives here rode out the storm in their kitchen hiding under the bar area and when they emerged this is what they saw. we also spoke to a neighbor who was able to get into a storm shelter in her backyard, and when she emerged there was nothing left from her home and i talked to her a little about that experience of getting to the storm shelter and what she felt when she came out. i want to play some of that conversation. >> we opened the screen door, and it tore out of our hands and shattered so we grabbed the dogs and ran to our shelter. this long dirt is where our house was. >> this was the house? >> yes, yes, ma'am. this end

we want to get right to nbc's priscilla thompson who is following this for us on texas. walk us through the suspect and how this all unfolded. >> we well, yasmin, an incredibly devastating scene here. there's a few moments ago someone who was very emotional walked up and was assured behind the crime scene tape here. so it's probably a family member and they were just heartbroken and devastated over what has happened here. as you, mentioned five people dead and there were three other children who are in the home. police say they were covered in blood when they found. them it appears that some of the adults who died may have tried to shield those children. thankfully they were uninjured. but all of this allegedly unfolded over a noise complaint, a dispute where a neighbor asked another neighbor to stop shooting his gun outside. take a listen to a little bit of how the sheriff described how all of this played out last night. >> one of the victims came out of the house, asking them to quit shouldn't cause they're trying to put an infant asleep. and he turned around and walke
