right now we're currently working on people on felony probation and as the adult probation department indicated, they provided an extensive list. we have already filed numerous petitions on behalf of numerous probationers but there is a large number of files that we're still determining the eligibility. some appear ineligible upon a quick rehave you but actually when you pull the file and you read the police report, they actually are eligible and they pled out to something that makes them ineligible so this is a work in progress. the biggest portion of the iceberg are the people who have already completed the sentence, convictions that are much older. >> do you have a timeline you are working with in trying to sort through these cases and get the answers? >> i believe we have 3 years to make sure we file all the petitions for these older cases. >> was that stipulated in the legislation? >> i believe -- miss deberry, the 3 year time frame? >> (inaudible) trying to contact the woman that's been doing the reviews. i think we've done approximately 300. the drug cases were obvious because

the adult probation department has been going towards a research-based probation supervision department, that provides a risk assessment, providing service referrals and motivational interviewing resulting in an increase in successful probation terminations and a decrease in unsuccessful terminations. in culture and recreation, we have the library. i selected this metric here with a lot of wonderful metrics, like all departments, but here showing the average daily wi-fi users. you can see a big increase particularly in the branch libraries. at the same time we have had the big bond program, the branch library improvement project that has recently completed all 24 branches that were slated for renovation or being rebuilt are open. libraries also making significant investments into technology initiatives because they do want to make available better technology everything from providing increased wi-fi, they are working with the department of technology to put in fiber connection that would reduce our reliance on contracting out for wi-fi services, they are doing a lot of projects to incre

when i was a probation officer we used to use the risk assessment. that's an objectsive tool to not hold young people into the system. i know that new york tries to use it but as an intake officer you're a young person askis -- a young person is screened then a probation. people are screened immediately so you can eliminate them from being put into a detention center. my first position was an intake officer and i did gender responsive programming. holding an all-female gang caseload. when i would get calls from officers from police officers that my young girl was going to be transported into the probation or into the juvenile hall, i would risk them in my head and inform the police officer that was not necessary and inform them there was a community program that would be accepting them at this time. it's things like that. we could do so much better if we really wanted to. i think that's what we're here for. >> thank you very much. sue followed by cedric alexander. >> i'll start with miss perez. i appreciated your comments about the pal program and th
