programs. you will see some of those numbers in consequent slides. >> hi, everyone. nice to see the commissioners here tonight. i'm going to talk about the residency program that we have here in san francisco. i think most are familiar with san francisco residency. we've expanded to have a second residency. i will explain a little bit about the fftr and talk about, one, similarities, and the ones with different candidates. we've been working with the residency for eight years. we've recruited s.t.e.m. teachers and bilingual teachers. we have 79% of our graduates still teaching in san francisco unified school district. and 80% of the graduates have completed at least five years of teaching. so we have a relatively good retention rate. 66% of our residents declare as people of color compared to 55% teachers. and the residency is in partnership with stanford and the university of san francisco. and really focuses on a year-long residency is that accompanied by weekly practicum, that can look at wh

this was a program advocated before i joined the program. but people with disabilities that had informal caregivers. and it was also -- it came out of the 2016 doss needs assessment. about 14,000 seniors live in san francisco and are unable to pay for home care and are ineligible for ihss. that needs assessment found that the cost of home care can be $29,000 a year. that was based on a wage of -- a cost of $23 an hour and 21 hours a week. so there is a huge need for this program. we hope to show a great need through serving that number as well as having a waitlist. 100% of the area median income is $80,700. this is a very progressive program, first of its kind, helping in that respect. and i think that -- is that $80,000 a year for a household or individual? >> single adult. mayor's office on housing -- yes. mayor's office on housing has a chart that shows that up to a household of nine what the 100% median income is. >> so basically to re-emphasize that, again, it would really help for recruitment strategy, we're talking about individuals w

part of that is the snap program. supplemental nutrition program. which in california is the cal fresh program, or food stamps more generally known. we have the medicaid program which is very important to many of our clients and certainly to all of our ihss clients. we have the medicare program which is important to many -- well not all, but most of our daas clients. so those are out there and you know, there are risks around all those things with the current administration. we also have a set of concerns that come from the state budget. so as i said, in the state budget, we have seen some impacts in the cal works program. which in this case, probably reduce our revenue by about $1.5 million. it's not a daas program, but as i said before, all of the hsa programs are to some extent connected by their general fund. so if we lose revenue in one place, we have to figure out what we're doing there. and if we're that increases the need for general funds in the program. that's how these are all affecting each other. think we're losing a little bit of reven
