ian pryor is a former trial attorney and former principal deputy director of public affairs at the justice department. that was his first interview since leaving the doj. great to see you today. can we first talk about this advantage quotient that the defense is talking about? is it true that the longer that it takes, it benefits the defendant? >> ian: it well there are two sides to the coin, it's not a general murder trial where there is a weapon and an eyewitness, this is a trial involving 18 counts. it's not necessarily unusual for a jury to deliberate for an extended period of time, but it does look like paul manafort may have some hope here. first, the jury came back with a question, what does a reasonable doubt mean? if you are a defense attorney come any time someone comes back and ask for their burden of proof, they are thinking about whether there is enough evidence there. the second part, and it's a small thing but the fact is that they had this on a friday. juries know i'm did not like tk on a monday. if they get into the weekend and they are thinking about reasonable doubt, it
