me most commissions that oversee housing for that number of residents of the city should be accountable to the general public. people should know what decisions they're making. those decisions have great impact on a large number of residents in the city. i just want to continue to urge the housing authority to seriously consider relocating in order to have their meetings televised and broadcast to insure accountability. i wanted to thank supervisors campos, chu, kim, and mar for cosponsoring that. i will be introducing legislation that would establish a named district along divisadero. we have had a couple of meetings with merchants, we plan to spend most of the august meeting with more merchants and residents. divisadero is establishing itself in a very unique way. it seems that now's the time to start reflecting on how that district or that street will move forward. some of the considerations that are being given is to rethink a second floor uses and an existing non residential building. we have been -- we have approached sf made in the hopes of bringing in a different employment to bring in art is at all

here is more on the renovation projects for baltimore city public school. >> charlie, students they're going to be in for quite a treat when they head back to school on monday. they'll eel step into a new edition, the new edition is phase one. phase 2 includes renovating the old school building. once the entire $20 million project is complete, they'll house about 1200 students making it one of the largest elementary schools in the city as the new edition offers students wi-fi, air condition voice over internet phones state of the art security system and loss of natural light. the public can help students with the tag and gambling revenue all going towards education. >> all of that money will go into new construction. we would like to either donor renovations, major renovations and build completely new schools for every school that's in the district, so we want to increase the educational capacity of our system and the ultimate in technology in all of our schools. >> baltimore city public schools had a study completed by jacob son international firm. they found it will take $2.4 billion

integral part of our city and all the other clergy that are here as well as the naacp, represented by a pastor reverend amos brown and his staff, along with the police chief, or publicclusters, juvenile probation, a deprivation, community-based agencies, city services office, and the number of community groups that have engaged me and my staff and all of the supervisors are on this very serious question around public safety in our city. many of you have known and heard in the past couple of months my very deep concerns about our safety, particularly of our young kids, and particularly of our african- american kids. not everybody can be a gabby or an olympic hero. not everybody can do that. not everybody can participate in the 5000 jobs that we are creating in the internship programs that are paid that we signaled this summer. not everybody can be successful in everything that we do to try to set up those conditions for people to be successful. there are some who, unfortunately, touch our juvenile and adult probation criminal-justice system, and we try to find ways to correct that path and to create supportive mechanisms. we are rich in services in many ways with int

the government can claim rights to private property because it benefits the public. citiesis when they want to get houses out of the way. in this plan, what the government is looking to do is take control of this under water mortgages. these are people that owe more on their home than it's worth. this would only be for homeowner who are up to date on their mortgage payments. the government would take control of the loan, refinance it and then hand it off to another entity which would own the mortgage. it would refinance it to the current market value. the caveat is it will probably be lower than the home was originally purchased for. it makes it so people aren't tempted to walk away from their homes when they are under water. we did talk with one official from san bernadino. he says it helps them stay in their homes. as you can tell this can get very complicated. critics say this could dry up the mortgage market because what the private lenders would see and these investers would avoid the cities that use this practice because it would make it harder for buyers to get loans
