we prioritize housing on public land into get this level of affordable housing i'm with the folks who want 100% affordable housing on this site. i'd like that too. unfortunately we have to make these trade offs to leverage the economic value of this land and build these levels which are huge. i don't know if some of you why here earlier where we had the affordable dividadaro group clamoring for a 50% housing on a privately owned project and unfortunately it's not feasible. i'm surprised many of those folks didn't stick around to actually support this project, which is 50% affordable housing. it's kind of what we drive for and what we need. this process is at the beginning that will be in i.e.r., we'll look at density and traffic. certainly this is a bay area that has got transit. there's bart, there's light rail and it's got. design can solve a lot of the issues that people brought up. i encourage you to continue with this process and look at other areas that are being built at these density levels. 1,000 units of housing are 1100 units of housing is not an enormous impact. look at wh

from the very beginning, this whole transition of public housing and affordable housing was a good idea. but many, many residents didn't think it would ever actually happen. it's been a life changing experience. and i'm truly grateful for the whole initiative and all those that work on the whole sf initiative. they've done a wonderful job accommodating the residents, who for many years have lived in delap tated housing. now they have quality housing. i was on a street where the living room and the kitchen and stairs. it wasn't large enough to accommodate. the children are grown. i had the accomplish of having a dishwasher in my home. i really like that. as a native san franciscan as well, raised by her grandmother in the western addition of the public housing has fought for many of our city's most challenging issues that our community and our citizens face. safe, clean neighborhoods. affordable housing. particularly her leadership recently around homelessness and she fights for equitable education opportunities and for services for vulnerable people in our communities. the second woman that i'm introducing, of course, is our speaker of the u.s. representatives house is nancy pelosi.
