there was a larger issue of rates and what the puc is charging. it's not directly connected to the cca. it deals with the larger issues of this commission and that is a discussion that is also taking place. i think the board understands that very important role that the public utilities commission plays. i think there is a real interest in making sure that we have as viable lead agency as we can and we remain the innovative agency that we have been and that we continue to be really leading the way nationwide. >> i want to make sure with mike campbell and clean power sf, the time is enough for the board to get better educated this since it is so complex and of his companion re peace. i would urge the staff to make sure that as these hearings get scheduled -- there is a lot of education that might need happen. >> i think it is important, commissioner, also making sure that those discussions go out into the communities. we have a very diverse communities that need to know more about this. and the impact on would be directly impacted by this program.

as you think about the power enterprise, when you are in the airport, it is powered by the puc. there's a lot of talk around how do we ensure the public, the investments we're making to the city agencies, whether it's around the school district or department of environment it's tied to getting our message out to the type of work we're doing in the community. there will be greater attention in that area. the last part is run workforce development. jobs are a huge party out of the mayor's office and a huge priority for us. it is increased emphasis on how we leverage and amplified jobs opportunities as relates to the puc. this slide talks about the accomplishments for the last year in legislative affairs. most of you have been briefed on these. some of them are concrete legislation we helped co- sponsor. summit is more local, whether it's from getting the power rates adopted. there has been quite a bit of work in the legislative affairs team to encourage cross- enterprise conversation about legislative strategy. there was missed opportunities to have a joint conversation about our

the puc has a grant program. unlike pg&e, their numbers were different, and they propose to target some of our schools, and they would like to come in for free and news hour route to host solar power. what is different about this proposal from other proposals is the power we produce will actually be used by people in the building, whereas before, they wanted to give us the glory of having solar panels on their rules, but we got nothing in return -- on the roof, but we got nothing in return. they are going to do it in a clean, renewable way. they are going to own it and maintain its, and we are going to see if that works. alvarado is our first test case, and our legal counsel is working on trying to gather some mutual contract, which they have some tough things to see if they can even work, so this is a test to dry it out. we will not generate money for this for 25 years. we will benefit from having a clean power on the roof of alvarado. from the standpoint of where we ought to be going in the world, it is good fo
