puc employees are prohibited director where the money should go. it is voluntary provision and i'll talk about a new idea that came from director pellem and staff how to make that more probust. the commitments become part of the contract and it is up to the puc to enforce those. as you know, the controller office conducted a audit of this program. last year and in some time in december came up with the audit and had 7 recommendations. they really revolved around transparency and enforcement and so we have taken steps to address those . the first thing we did is general manager harrera directed staff to agree to every audit recommendation and to begin to enforce those. that began right away. we recently did the first 6 month update where we are either have completed or in the process of on all 7. let me talk about what those particular things are. on enforcement, it turned out of 8 contracts with a cip, there were 4 or 5 contracts that have gone through the life of the span and the firms had not done the things they committed to do. and there were n

it is a joint effort, including public works mta, san francisco puc,; the transportation authority, and the planning department. our goals is to create a sense of place improving mobility and safety. and helping support economic development. along the corridor. the project started in 2010 since then, we've had six rounds of community out reach. we held focus groups hosted by lighthouse for the blind and m.o. d. we gave update with the senior ax, our community working group, our community working group meets every other month and includes representatives from throughout the corridor. we are also creating a business working group. to include local businesses. in january of 2020, a quick build project that made market street, car free. it went into affect just 6 weeks before covid. since then, our focus has been mid-market between 5th and 8th street which is the location of our first construction project. >> through the chair, christina, this is nicole speaking, if you speak at about this pace, we'll be fine with the interpreting, so you can speak a little bit faster. >> thanks, nicole. >>
