. >> this is likely the first many have heard of pyeongchang, south korea. let's start where it is.the northern part of the country, east of seoul just 50 miles south of north korea. speaking of that country, organizers of the games actually changed the region's name, capitalizing the "c" so people won't confuse it with pyongyang, the north korean capital. still, the relationship to their neighbor to the north will likely be something that may dominate these games. pyeongchang is a mere 50 miles from the north korean border, and at least recently every day closer to the game seems to be a day of higher tensions between kim jong-un and the united states. >> yeah, there's some fears around north korea. i'm sure they will have great security, but, yeah, it is definitely like a little bit of a gray area. >> reporter: the games are being build as a peace builder in the region. north korea even announced it would allow athletes that qualified to cross the demilitarized zone to attend. but while that is a problem they've managed to avoid, another looks to loom large over these games. will
