we're here at pier 50 where you can see workers with pyro spectaculars by sousa are prepping the four barges for tomorrow night's show that will take place out on the bay. you can see right there they're positioning the launch tubes. in a couple hours they'll start loading those tubes with fireworks that will be brightening the night sky in just over 24 hours from now. as i mentioned, there will be four barges. two off pier 39 the other two off aquatic park. the best place is anywhere along the san francisco waterfront to catch the show. our question for the show's producer who we just caught up with in the past half hour is how do you one-up yourself from last year? how, he admits it's been a few years since there's been a new innovation in fireworks effects. that said, he's come up with a new sequence new music promises to wow the crowds with the roughly 10,000 fireworks that will be blasting off during a short 25-minute span. >> so yeah quite a bit of stuff. and it's going off at a variety of different altitudes. we don't focus as much on the big stuff because of the "f" word, so w

about a 20-minute show set to music, last year 80,000 people showed up and the folks at pyro spectaculartill working behind us setting up almost 1300 fireworks to be launched into the sky tonight. law enforcement and firefighters are hoping that people will attend more shows like this where the fireworks are being handled by professionals. the rotary is also doing nothing new, they have a truck spraying down nearby trees and brush to prevent sparks from the debris. illegal neighborhood fireworks are a big focus of law enforcement tonight. the san jose police department has numerous officers working overtime and will deploy special operations unit. >> to go ahead and do selective enforcement in certain areas that have been traditionally hot spots during the fourth of july where people are setting off illegal fireworks. >> reporter: the patrol will have a zero tolerance attitude. if they catch anyone with fireworks, it can lead to citations or arrests. officials hope the fireworks show also cut down on people setting them off an home. cal fire says last year in california fireworks caused
