if we are able to get warm air in to the region, we have a better chance of severe weather. 76 quantico. 75 fredericksburg. 64 to frederick , maryland. the clear skies back to the west. here's the storm system in the chicago area. we will watch it closely. on this track, you can actually track it down. it would move to the south of d.c. and in to northern virginia. that's what i'm watching. severe weather threat for today in to early tomorrow morning. a moderate threat and that's a very high threat on this scale. severe weather including tornados. for us in the slight risk. that means we have a chance of strong to severe storms in the area through 8:00 tomorrow morning. tomorrow afternoon, the slight risk shifts to the entire region during the we have not one but two chances of storms. the biggest threat will be strong winds and could be here as you wake up tomorrow. make sure to give yourself plenty of extra time. future weather as i mentioned nothing going on at 11:00. by 4:00, five o'clock in the morning, seeing the rain come in and by 7:00 here's the strong storms with heavy rain. a

upperville around route 50 and again it's moving towards manassas on our storm tracker at 6:50, quantico at 7:22 and la plata at 7:43. i think the storm holds together as it moves southeast and crosses into the river in southern maryland. the good news no tornado warnings at this hour, the bad news still some severe thunderstorm warnings till 7:15. we've got all kinds of severe weather back to the west of us and that has to roll through tonight. we're not done once these storms roll. look at this cross-section, 60,000 feet. that is about as high as storms get in this part of the world. once you go above that, look at the hail core. this is a pretty heavy storm right around 50 between aldie and upperville. we do have reports of some storm damage. we have a lot of reports of hail with these storms and trees down west around martinsburg. we're talking hail 2, 3 inches in diameter, very unusual for us. this just came into us 6:30 around middleburg, west of there, 1.5 inches in hail and also golf ball size hail in middleburg. that's pretty big for us. that will dent your car. big time storms,
