this is on quimby road near eastridge mall. that fire quickly spreading to neighboring homes.but investigators do say that the embers then drifted, starting to more fires in adjacent neighborhood. it forced two. it forced some of those people to dangerously try to put that fire out themselves. we actually saw some of them use their feet, even a garden hose, to try to put out those flames. embers of tree, i guess a palm tree. we're starting to fall on my driveway and i saw one, stomped it out, saw another, stomped it out. next thing you know, it was just out of control and one that felt like about this big got me on the back of my neck and i just screamed, i'm up on the roof. i start spraying the neighbor's house because i don't know if he's home, but i'm not taking a chance. wow. okay, so a total of six structures, including the two homes, burned in the fire. no one was hurt. the cause of that fire is still under investigation. well, now to the east bay, where crews are still working to put out the corral fire. so far, it has burned more than 14,000 acres. it's near tracee. ev

now, because of what happened here, that fire broke out around 5 p.m. yesterday near quimby road andand point drive in east san jose. on arrival, crews say they found a garage fire inside one of those homes. strong winds helped fuel the fire, pushing it across two residential blocks and multiple homes. a longtime neighbor says she was standing inside when she realized her childhood home was in jeopardy. >> i could see a fire in the side yard and the glass broke. smoke started coming in. so then i headed outside, started calling 911. i could see the fire between the two houses and for both of us, our garages started going first. >> the fire captain says the blaze prompted a response equivalent to a four alarm fire. crews battled flames at multiple locations in the neighborhood. they were ultimately able to limit the damage of the jumping flames to just three homes, and with the help of neighbors, they got everyone inside those homes out safely. >> i seen the smoke, and then, i came over here. then we're driving. we seen the house caught on fire right in front of us. and then we seen s
