. >> rachel ferguson is up next with weather. >> hello again, things are starting to clear up acrossuch of china. high pressure is moving in and it will keep things nice and clear for the rest of the week but it is going to be a different story for japan. lots of wet weather spread out across much of the country. it is going to be wet and cold. temperatures drop by about ten degre degrees. we're talking about highs below 0. so single digit highs for parts of central japan. we have continuing showers across the philippines. we will be seeing areas of heavier rain as well and showers pushing in towards the southern coast of china and continuing also for vietnam and into this area as well. this is the cool down i was talking about. 7 in tokyo and seoul. shanghai dropping by about 10 degrees. hong kong managing to hold on to the 20s there. we're in the low 30s in manila as well as in bangkok. this system will be dropping in towards the four corners, bringing with it a round of heavy snow in places. it's going to be accompanied by very chilly air and strong winds blowing the snow around.

rachel ferguson is up next with weather. >>> hello, again. let you know what the weekend has in terms of weather. things look like they'll clear up across japan here. we have a low pressure system just making an exit. and in its place will be high pressure. mostly clear and fine. there is a small low pressure system now making its way across north korea. that is going to reach hokkaido by sunday, but it's not going to be too intense in nature. you can see it's looking very clear here across much of the continent. down towards the south we will find a continuing downpours across hey nan island and vietnam. and the rain has been ongoing for the last several weeks. unfortunately into the weekend there will be an increased risk of flooding to occur. and also with that landslides. here are your temperatures. 14 in tokyo. 10 in seoul and 9 in beijing with minus 8 in ulaanbaatar. these temperatures are really set to drop into the beginning of next week. there's going to be a very pronounced difference as a cold blast makes its way down through mongo

rachel ferguson is up next with with weather. >>> hi there. time for another world weather update. the snow affecting northern japan is going to start to subside now as the low pressure system pulls away into thursday afternoon and we'll see high pressure moving in from the west and drying things up across much of the country. it has been very significant snowfall, about 40 centimeters in the space of just 24 hours. now, as we see, there's going to be plenty of moisture coming into northern and northeastern parts of china. the korean peninsula as well and as opposed to snow. this is falling as rain. showers extend down along the eastern coast of china, the shanghai region getting heavier reaching taiwan and the philippines. a system is sitting between these two areas and it's an intense low pressure system bringing just soaking rain as it has been doing the past couple of days. also another tropical low sitting here in south china sea bringing heavy rain to parts of hainan island as well as into central vietnam. there will be a risk of flooding in all of those areas as we see that

rachel ferguson is up next with weather. >>> dry and fine across much of eastern asia.s we head into tuesday. that's going to include much of china. mongolia as well as the korean peninsula. however we're seeing a wintry pattern. we usually see around this time of year. and through the season, for japan. now we see the winds carrying picking up the moisture from the sea of japan here. and bringing that across that turns to precipitation. it's going to be about 80 millimeters of rain for hokkaido, seeing about 20 centimeters of snow, rather than rain. so really starting to see things cool down here. now to the south it's going to stay much warmer. and we have plenty of rain. this time across the philippines as well as eastern indochina. let's see what's going to be happening if we fast-forward into the next few days and see what the forecast holds. once again, it's going to be central vietnam. so the area around da nang is going to be picking up heavy rain, as well as the northeastern portion of the philippines. so eastern luzon getting maybe 150 millimeters of rain into

rachel ferguson is up next with weather. >>> hello there and welcome back to your world weather updatet's head into eastern asia, we're going to be talking more about the snowhat's falling in japan. now western hokkaido has picked up about 20 centimeters of the white stuff and there's still another 30 to 40 centimeters likely before the system that is bringing the precipitation pulls away on thursday. so for you skiers, it looks like the season is just about ready to get started. the rest of the country is looking much drier. comparatively. we do see a few showers moving across the korean peninsula. it's this in the central china that's going to be expanding and moving up in towards the north. i think that's going to be bringing more substantial rainfall. speaking of substantial rainfall, there's plenty of it down here to the south. taiwan and northern portions of the philippines roo really getting absolutely soaked. and you can see where the red is popping up in the next three days, over 150 millimeters of additional rainfall is likely to come down. and that will most likely result in

. >>> rachel ferguson is up next with weather. weather.>>> held. >>> hello there, we'll head into eastern asia, we're seeing some heavy rain moving into the korean peninsula and also into western japan here. a big surge of moisture coming up from the south. it's going to bring some very significant accumulations, too, parts of kyushu will see over 100 millimeters, maybe about 120 in the next 24 hours. now, ahead of that system coming in, there's going to be a rush of warm air from the south as well. and that's really going to boost temperatures here in tokyo. saturday is going to reach up into the low 20s once again. having said that by sunday, a very icy blast will come from the north and that will set temperatures right back down where they should be. it's also going to be turning this precipitation coming across from northeastern china to snow once it reaches hokkaido. but that's not going to be until sunday. so heavy rain also moving into parts of southeastern and eastern china here. we've got a couple of systems, one off hain

rachel ferguson is up next with weather. >> friday looks like its set to be sunny across much of the southeast asian continent. however there will be widespread fog affecting much of central and eastern china. not anything much in the way of rain. the precipitation that will be finding is going to be here across northern and central japan. now rain down further towards the south, but up to the north, it is definite will i going to be falling as snow. and we have quite a developed system sitting up there to the north. that's what's going to be bringing these very snowy conditions. but also the strong wind along with it. so winds are going to be getting up over 70 kilometers per hour. we've got the snow as well. maybe another 40 centimeters for western hokkaido into the next 24 hours. we're seeing some really significant winter weather now. across northern japan. down in towards the south, continuing showers here for eastern indochina. that will be laos, as well as vietnam and also the philippines and it's certainly enough to raise the concern of flooding and landslides into next coupl
