"the rachel maddow show" starts right now. . >> good evening, christmas. >>> r. >>> thanks for joining us this hour. even as the carolinas are not over the lingering effects of florence, which was a major flooding event in that part of the country, now hurricane michael is expected to hit tomorrow. with florence, you may remember that was a very slow-moving storm, and we had a whole bunch of days of advanced notice as to when that one was going to come ashore and at what strength and to what likely effect. in contrast, this new storm michael has come on fast. it is a fast-moving storm and a fast expanding threat.
