joining me now is rachel nichols. so, rachel, good to see you. espn's matchup predictor says the 49ers have a 59.4% chance of edging out the chiefs. what's your prediction aside from people getting mad every time taylor swift is shown on camera, even if it's only for a few seconds? what are you looking for? >> both teams arrive in las vegas tonight. for the chiefs, it's their second consecutive super bowl. it is their third in four years. because of that, amazingly, they have a routine. this is how we handle the championship game. patrick maholmes was talking about the players comfortable with the game plan by now. it's just a matter of locking the details in. on the 49ers side, they have super bowl experience. a little bit different. they were in this game four years ago. they were facing the chiefs. they were ahead 20-10 in the fourth quarter. thought they were cruising to a win. the chiefs stormed back and won by 11 points. it was devastating for san francisco. the talk around that team for the past few days has been c sharpening up the defens

i don't blame them joining me now, rachel nichols, host of headliners with rachel nichols on showtime, paramount plus. i mean, rachel, this is why people are saying and the duke head coach is calling for this a court-storming ban. i mean, i get it when you when the when you when march battle this. but does it have to be like every upset they storm the i'm surprised this hasn't happened more. >> yeah. i mean, it has happened more. we've had injured like this. this is just very high-profile. this is dukes leading score he's someone who's attracts a lot of attention. and he said this ban went after him and you can see a little bit i'm one of the angles. the fan approaching him. yeah, slowing down, taunting him, and then they knock knees and he is now obviously injured. this is a very controversial thing because this is a huge part of college basketball law, right? i did it when i was in college and we we had a big moment in our football game. we stormed the field. that was it's something fun for fans, but it is obviously gotten dangerous for players especially is there's a little bit mor

however, when we take a look at the us perspective on this, rachel nichol was telling us that this is not in the interest of the united states to, for example, pull out of nato. but it seems like in the us, at least republicans or followers i've done with them specifically. don't seem to think that would be a big deal if the us pull that up later was the country that much more vulnerable with that happens, i mean, and there's a sort of narrow view of security and a broader view of security. if you take the narrow view of security that really have to do a sort of territorial attacks against the united states or something like that. this is probably the way you know trumping a lot of his voters would think about security. there of course more focused on the southern border and where there are, you know, concerns or things like terrorism. and so to make the case that sort of the war and ukraine or poland has a lot to do with the us security. so it's a more difficult case to me, i would say the majority of the political leaders in the united states still have this view of allied security

for a preview, let's bring in host of showtime's headliners, rachel nichols. who's going to win this thing? >> the 49ers are favor. if you look at the las vegas odds. personally, i'm going to have to go with the chiefs just under the premise that you've got to give the team that's done it before the edge over the team that hasn't. when these teams met four years ago, it was the chiefs not only who were victorious, but they were deep into the fourth quarter. they had six minutes left to go and they went ahead and scored 21 unanswered points against the 49ers. so the niners will have to make up for that. have to keep tough, mental toughness, at the end of the fourth quarter. i expect it to come down just as much to the wire. we have two of the best teams of the last five years competing for this title. i wouldn't be surprised if either one of them won, but if you ask me to make a pick, i've got to go with kansas city. >> it's kind of a funny year because the chiefs were having kind of a rocky season. this was not smooth sailing. it was a miami dolphins we were a
