county and winds are reds moving away from the radar and the green is winds moving toward the radar and winds moving in different directions calling them gate to gate sheer and that creates a tumble that wind flow that wraps around one another and towards five points but yellow house get a heads up. keep this particular image on here but widen out more a warning farther down the the line where this storm is moving. there is boyer town and man tony just to the north of the circulation so take shelter. boyerstown we want to watch as well. and birdsboro take shelter at this time. browns mills 5:33 and talking about yellow house in the direct path of this circulation at 5:36 and spangsville and weaver town at 5:36. this is where we see the wrapping so to speak in this storm relative velocity mode. what you want to do, this we can't tell you enough. we want to tell you over and over again. avoid the windows, i know that partses of berks county and downtown residenting there are a lot of high rises get in the lowest level. condominium or business get to the lowest level of that particular

i will turn radar off. this area we have outlined in red for berks county stretching from central berks to eastern berks until 5:30. this cell can maintain its strength and continuing to move off to the east southerly jog there at 30 miles an hour and fit holds together the national weather service will expand that warning if they think it will spread into an additional counties. so there could be some concern as we look toward montgomery county as a cell, makes its way off to thee and southe right now. it did make that jog, we have heaviest portion of the cell right overhead of the reading area so you need to be taking safe shelter in and around reading where we see bright red color. i will zoom back out, a little mixed click. this is heaviest portion area of most concern, area where we are seeing that rotation being depicted so we could be dealing with the tornado on the ground. we have had reports of the down trees and power lines in berks county from this particular severe thunderstorm national weather

it's on the radar. now doppler radar is able to detect wind. it's not just to see where it's raining. you can see the core of this storm just to the north and oois of reading. that's the strongest returns are. and what radar is looking for is the red and the green kind of next to each other. what we call a couplet. it would be a small area of red versus green where one of the directions would be going toward the radar and one would be going away from the radar. and so that's where you would imply circulation. now sometimes the circulations are stronger that eer than oth. you can't necessarily exactly predict that, yes, this would be a weak one or an ef-3 or 2. you b can't determine the intensity of a tornado based on these colors. but you can get an idea of the likelihood that there is something going on b. you can also track it as you look minute by minute at this thing whether that cup louplet strengthening or weakening. so you're barelying a circulation, or are you seeing it decrease as we go through time? now sometimes in this part of the c

let me show you the radar picture.s same storm that we've been watching -- oh, now we have a new tornado warning so let me -- let's just go right down and deal with this. we had severe thunderstorm warning until 6:45. this is culpeper in orange and madison, madison it's out of there. orange i think it looks like that this basically this tornado warning has been issued for you guys. we'll just strip it clear here and we'll check out the details on this just issued tornado warning. the tornado warning is going to go for 7:15 -- until 7:15. it's for the counties of orange, obviously 'cause the storm is sitting right on top of orange now and spotsylvania, too. it's tracking to the east, it's moving at about 15 miles per hour, so it's slowed down just a little bit. this appears to be a radar indicated tornado. it's been rotating for quite awhile. just so you know, the history of this storm, it did have a brief tornado warning on it way back in madison county to the west. it moved to the east. it weakened a little bit so the

here's what's going on with the radar.you can see a pocket of heavier showers moving out of philadelphia and into south jersey. looking at heavy rain moving across new castle county and kent county. we have some watches and warnings that have been issued. this bulls eye of heavier rain, you can see the showers coming in. now the ri is draped along here. and everything is forming along that boundary. that fron toll bautall boundary will be with us for another day or so. you're looking at heavy rain. you can see you're looking at heavy rain as well. these are the possibilities of heaviest rain. we have seen anywhere from over an inch an hour falling when it is falling steadily. that was the rate it was coming down. we have this heavy pocket down here. and then we have a flash flood warning. this has been issued for middleton until 7:30 tonight. this is where we have seen both eyes of 3 to 5 inches of rain. that's radar estimated. the green denotes a flash flood watch. that does include tld. we're going to continue to see thi

let's go straight to radar. this your radar imagery match from overnight. and see what winds are doing. i do believe they're going to classify this as a tornado once the national weather service gets down. i'll pause it right here. this is 1:30 in the morning. if you see on your screen here this dark, dark pink meeting this darker green, that is a strong indication of a tornado. did not last that long. it was only on radar for about five minutes or so and then it quickly dissipated. but again, national weather service has not yet confirmed it but radar so, we'll keep an eye on the latest reports out of the national weather service, see if they don't confirm it later today. highest wind gusts i see reported out of that storm was just before it crossed the bay in east port at 68 miles an hour from a weather reporting station there but of course if there was a tornado winds certainly likely higher than that. satellite and radar out there this morning, couple of showers down i-95 south of town towards fredericksburg. won't be able to rule out the showers as we

. >> reporter: the morning showers evolved in a steadier rain this afternoon and double scan live radar showing pickets of heavy rain west of philadelphia. it's going to be a while before we can completely dry out the atmosphere. and we are seeing the potential for a lot of rain in a short period of time. the national weather service posted an insurance watch for philadelphia and all the counties surrounding i-95 until 6:00 tomorrow morning. that means the potential for localized flooding we have been seeing flash flooding this is where the warning continues for the next hour and a half in southern newcastle county, middletown townsend, delaware, these areas are seeing a tremendous amount of rain. this shows the radar estimates, how much rain middletown 3.5 and middletown, delaware closing in on the a half foot of rain. between route 1 and 301. this flips over with the current radar pockets of heavy rain generally south of philadelphia and you see how it's pivoting to the northwest crossing 301 and we also have pockets of heavy rain rolling across the shore heading towards millville. as

i'll show you what is going on on radar. not everybody is seeing the rain. let me get in you a little bit closer because first of all mentioning flooding, we have a flood warning until 10:15 once again for central montgomery county. it's a little farther south than where the flooding was yesterday and this is a different type of flood warning. this is to alert folks that live near streams and creeks that those waters could be rising, about an inch of rain has fallen in this area already and you'll recall that yesterday they had about two and a half inches of rain and flooding near leightonville. that's one warning we're watching. this area is expanding and oddly it's moving north and west so from northwest d.c. top walker mill, clinton and brandywine we'll see this here in just a little bit as this storm moves northwest at 15, it's going to drop heavy rain, it might have some pea sized hail with it and so that cop get into arlington, alexandria, bethesda, clinton, college park, capitol, reagan national airport, all those areas may see this moving in here in
