proposed general fund administration budget presented by the finance and budget committee chair rafael mandelman. mandelman i.d. financ -- >> supervisor mandelman: just to highlight, based on the recommended proposal, there's a reduction of $67,058,000 for the budget and $134,115 for 20-21 budget. also there's contingency proposal from the mayor's office 1% can is $33,529 reduction. on the procedure, there's no change in the number of procedures. impact o of the reduction was enough to be big impact on the contracts. with that, that's the only line item that we got with the 12% budget. impact of that will be $101,196. additionally, we had services requesting additional funding. there's -- funding will be $354,000. the budget and finance committee approved the budget this morning and presented to the board for full approval. do i hear a motion to approve the 2019-2020 and 2021 budget? >> president breslin: i move to approve the budget. >> second. >> supervisor mandelman: any questions from the board? if not, any public comment. budget unanimously approved. >> i like to thank commissioner lim for

we will also be joined by supervisor rafael mandelman, who has been very supportive of our work, and by senator scott weiner who actually was one of the first people who commissioned this task force, and david campos, a former supervisor, will also be joining us. we have invited the mayor, and hopefully she will join us and say a few words in support of this work. it is a chance for us to really celebrate the work we've done to talk about what next steps are in terms of finishing out the recommendations. we have completed -- we have done a lot of work on 11 of the 13 recommendations in the reports. it is something to be proud of. we know there isn't a complete equity for lgbtq people in san francisco, so we still have work to do, but overall, it will be a real celebration. that i wanted to talk a little bit to give you a heads up about something that will be happening in april, and that is the palliative care workgroup, which is staffed by dawes, but is a multi- departmental workgroup that looks at palliative care in san francisco, and tries to make sure that every person has access

and rafael mandelman who has brought his own experience to pushing for stronger policies to expand mental health policies and residential care facilities to those who need it most. aaron peskin, a life-long environmentalist who has never been afraid to challenge corporations who are unwilling to do their part in this climate change crisis. and hillary ronen, who in only her second year successfully fought for one of the most significant issues facing households today -- the minimum compensation ordinance, and continues to be a champion for all workers and immigrants. asha safai, who has made sure that we never forget about the needs of our moderate and middle-income families. whether it comes to open space or affordable housing policies. and catherine stephanie, the first as you already heard, is the first and the loudest to ensure that our children are safe from gun violence. and walton, who is coming from a youth work development organization but who even before that as one of his first jobs after graduating college was already serving children and families with his work at the boys and

[applause] >> now i would like to invite the person representing district eight, rafael mandelman. plus plus. >> thank you. legs the mothers of my colleagues, i was one of the people in 2010 who did not support you, and how wrong i was , and how delighted i am to have been proven wrong over this time. i have seen you show tremendous courage, and in your quiet way, taco some of the most important issues facing our city from early childhood education, to the needs of senior folks. i am looking forward to working with you, and i congratulate you it seems like i was just doing this a few months ago, because i was just doing this a few months ago pick as many of you know, i am in the unusual position of being elected in june, and sworn in and july, and reelected in november, so i will do my best to be brief, but i do have some thank you his i want to give to folks. happily, my november campaign was a quiet and intimate affair, but i did have a team that got me through. scott carlson was an amazing intern in the june campaign, and they got a battlefield promotion to be campaign manager f
