it's raining, it might get heavier, it's not driving rain, but a steady consistent rain. it's the wind we're feeling in brigantine. we're standing by the water it's very dark. the surf is rough if you look ahead. we are seeing the wind gusting and moving the trees, and planters turned over. people are raying for the storms -- are bracing for the storm. they are worried about the remnants of the hurricane on top of this first storm. officials are getting ready. governor chris christie declared a state of emergency he will not hesitate to order evacuations. waves pounded the shoreline. in some areas plows are pushing sand to protect dunes protecting properties along the water. officials are warning resident to prepare for evacuation if necessary. tidal flooding has caused flooding in spots. at this point it is not major. at this point a lot of people have a storm plan in place. they have called their friends and family in the event they live in low-lying areas and need to evacuate. of course, people are concerned waiting for the days ahead. >> the concern right now because

here's future wind and rain. we're looking at future precip shown by the green, that shows us the rain and the wind speeds here. tonight, 9:00 p.m., winds gusting near 30 miles an hour in philadelphia. closer to the shore by 9:00 p.m. tonight already gusting close to 40 miles per hour. this is going to be more of an onshore wind with more rain moving in. friday morning, rain around, winds gusting near 40 to 45 miles an hour around the shore. then we see the heavy bands of rain moving in. this would be friday afternoon. tomorrow afternoon we do expect heavy rain to move onshore, coastal flooding concerns with the strong onshore wind possibly gusting near 45 miles an hour. inland wind gusts near 35 miles an hour, that's going to come along with heavy rain, too, so we also expect the potential for inland flooding, as well, with the heavy rain. now we're going into your weekend. saturday morning winds still gusting from about 35 to 40 miles an hour. the shore will still be a major concern some saturday and we have th

notice the heavy rain just off the coast and that heavy rain will start to move its way our way as we move on through the overnight hours and in through the day tomorrow. we are still expecting very heavy rain during the day on our friday. the nor'easter and its impacts is bringing in the northeasterly flow and coastal flooding will be an issue and we'll talk about that and the potential is there for flash flooding and we do have a flash flood watch up across portions of the region. the nor easter is one thing and the other thing that we've been watching is joaquin which for right now is the buzz saw of a storm and an incredibly tightly wound storm and you can see that eye wall and now a category 4 storm with 30 miles for hour and we expected this to stay off the coast and that's exactly when we'll do now and that is good news for the beaches around the region and veronica johnson live in ocean city and veronica, you'll get the nor'easter for sure, and the impacts from joaquin will only come from the ocean. >> reporter: yeah. they're expecting the worst of the conditions right here in
