we're watching a few rainshowers and thunderstorms push their way closer. this is associated with a slow-moving cold front, it's managed to make its arrival here a little ahead of schedule. hagerstown seeing a few thunderstorms with the first line, that's inching closer to baltimore. a few more scattered showers down south of there let's get an idea of how the storm has been progressing over the last few hours. you can see this one line fell apart over the mountains, began to fire up again in the last few hours, a lot of that courtesy of the heat and humidity. we're going to see the thunderstorms in the overnight hours. this initial line, the intensity of it should begin to wane a little bit. a severe thunderstorm watch is in effect to the north of us, it includes york and lancaster county, that is until 9:00 this evening and goes up to the great lakes and new york state. the cold front we're dealing with will provide a produce through form and early monday. 're expecting it to arrive around 8:00 monday evening outside baltimore, and 12 hours later it won't

from maryland's most powerful radar right now over downtown, we're not seeing anything as far as rainshowersen't seen anything over the past couple of days. and if you are headed out to the game tonight, you can expect clear conditions there at camden yards. gorgeous weather in store for at least tonight and tomorrow morning. that may change by tomorrow. we're looking at some changes in the forecast as the cold front comes through. 83. that's what we hit this afternoon here in baltimore. a very comfortable 83, though. typically, this time of year we're in the mid- to upper 80s. well below tavern but nowhere near the record. 107 was the record high back in 1936. and 55 was the record low in 1961. it was a cool start to the day, but, but not quite that cool. 61 is what we hit at the airport. if you like clouds out there this evening, we're starting to see more of these build in from the west. we do have some clouds that we'll be dealing with overnight tonight. but for the most part, dry conditions through tomorrow afternoon. that's when things are going to start to change. that's when the wet

and while we're more likely to see rainshowers on sunday, there is that slight chance both days, 82 for afternoon high. on sunday. with that possibility of stormy weather as a cold front passes through the area. now i want to show you what the rain is doing to the temperatures here, because while we're still very warm here in baltimore, 85 degrees, check out that temperature in york. 64 degrees. they had a good soaking not too long ago. really dropped that temperature down with the evaporative cooling. now that may happen here this evening as well, but it's still going to be very humid out there, all the way through the overnight hours as this upper- level system continues to work its way through the area. so as you can see, some strong showers and thunderstorms in southern pennsylvania. some warnings popping up there. no warnings yet in maryland. but there is that good possibility throughout much of the evening that we are going to see these thunderstorms cause some severe thunderstorm warnings. now as we head on through the rest of the night, we are going to start to see some clearing

here are those rainshowers up around york and harrisburg. there is that humid air flow coming in. a storm off to the southwest is funneling the air into our direction. it is warm and humid. this will be the rainmaker for the next day or two. generally, partly cloudy skies. winds will be light. an easterly breeze at 5 to 10 miles per hour. a lot of clout but it will be humid it tomorrow. there is a better chance tomorrow for scattered showers and thunderstorms activity. out in the tropics, trying to come together by the winds are not cooperating. if it weren't for these winds in the upper atmosphere, this might develop into something. we will keep an eye on it. futurecast shows the rain chances increase in during the day tomorrow. it may be lingering during the day on friday before it moves out of the picture. it looks like things will dry out late in the day on friday and into saturday. the highest rain chances are tomorrow at 60%. showers and thunderstorms could linger into the first part on friday. rain chances bounced up again on sunday and again during the middle of next week.

you can see offshore that low pressure center bringing some of the rainshowers right now our way. the other low pressure center trailing the cold front that will be moving in our direction. that will bring a better chance of a shower or thunderstorm later on in the afternoon. let's take a look at the surface features. there's the two pressure centers that i spoke of. as you put things into motion, you will see the low pressure center taking the showers with it to some degree. at 1:00 p.m. seeing the showers and thunderstorms moving into the region in the western part of the state and moving into the central counties as we move into the evening and seeing more shower chances around 5:00 p.m. for the northern part of the state then. and as we look beyond that, it looks to be try dry as we get into saturday, but in its wake we will pick up a fairly healthy dose of rain, we're thinking. you can see again, the two low pressure centers. this one of not of a concern for us, expect the one in the. as far as how much rain, as i told you, we can pick up a fairly december ebbet amoun dec. ha

hd radar only showing clouds for now but there's changes on way with rainshowers possibly. these will be isolated. we're talking about a 30% chance for the western part of the state and the eastern shore, getting close to that area, overnight in fact. a better chance of rain comes in tomorrow as we get to noontime for some of the central counties to the north. again, there will be more chances, each and every day this week, because we're going to have this trough of low pressure over us. the surface highs over us now bringing a more easterly flow of air our way. that will bring more humidity values or higher humidity values as the moisture does stream in and make it more likely for the isolated chance of a thunderstorm. maybe more scattered tomorrow as it becomes more likely then. let's take a look then, at the trough digging in here. that's the reason why we will get some showers, as far as how much rain, not going to see more lot. a little more to the north and toward the east. toward baltimore a quarter of an inch in the next few days. not i a whole lot of rain. the east
