i'm raj mathai. it's a busy start to this workweek. let's get you caught up on some of the headlines we are watching. no arrests yet, but police say this attack was not random. the shooting happened late last night at columbus and grant near the famed condor club in north beach. investigators aren't releasing much information, but we did obtain cell phone video shot by a tourist. it shows the immediate aftermath. now, we blurred out the video here because it is graphic. it shows one of the victims lying in the middle of the street. >> i heard gunshots, looked outside. there was a black suv, and a guy had shot this guy on a scooter, and he was trying to drag him back into the suv. >> pretty violent there. a handgun, you see it right there, was found on the pavement just feet away. police are asking anyone with information to come forward. >>> another headline we're watching. an 81-year-old woman fighting to keep her home in san francisco. she's been given three days to leave. it all boils down to missed payments on what may have been a

i'm raj mathai. this is not a sports story. this is a story about politics. it's a story about money and community love. bottom line, hearts are being broken as we speak yet again. oakland is likely to lose its third and final major sports franchise. the a's and the city of oakland are headed for a bitter divorce, and las vegas is the new frontier. the a's, just like the raiders, buying land near the las vegas strip. they plan to build a ballpark with a retractible roof. it essentially means the waterfront ballpark plan in oakland is dead in the water. beautiful sketches, but this was never built. 2027 is the target date for moving to las vegas, but the move could happen as soon as next year. so what exactly did happen? the a's have been at the coliseum for more than 50 years. the stadium is old, we know that. and the plan to build a ballpark in the bay area isn't moving fast enough. so the a's signed an agreement to buy 49 acres of land in vegas. it's a $1.5 billion deal, $1 billion from the a's and $500 million would come from the nevada taxpayers. oakland

raj mathai talked exclusively with kaval to find out. kaval said negotiations went on for too long and he shared why vegas is such a draw to the team. >> we've been on parallel paths for about two years, looking at oakland, doing everything we can to make that happen, looking at las vegas as another option. and we're really at the point now where we needed to make a hard decision. with the timeline challenges in oakland, this was really an action that we felt necessary to put the franchise on stable financial footing. >> it's $1.5 billion in vegas. that stadium right there, the retransactable stadium off the strip. you want the nevada taxpayers to chip in $500 million. then the a's would take care of remaining $1 billion. why would this be a good idea to the people in nevada? >> one of the dynamics in nevada is they have so many tourists and incremental visitors. and so it's a lot easier to create a positive roi to invest in these buildings like they did with allegiant stadium. over 800,000 incremental visitors come because of that stadi

i'm raj mathai. >> i'm jessica aguirre. our investigative unit has learned a worker at an assisted living facility in san mateo is charged with manslaughter for the deaths of two residents who were mistakenly served cleaning solution instead of fruit juice. we broke the story of the tragic deaths late last year. tonight, investigative reporter jaxon van derbecken found one of the victims' daughters wants the facility held accountable, not just one worker. >> i'd been ache requiring. >> reporter: susan schroeder has been struggling since her father died. he drank cleaning fluid mistakenly served instead of juice. susan at her father's side when he died of massive internal injuries 11 days later. >> it's hard to sleep at night. but my father loved me and i loved him, and that's the most important thing. >> reporter: a second 93-year-old resident, trudy maxwell, died in the poisoning incident last august. a third resident was hospitalized. now san mateo county prosecutors have charged the worker who allegedly poured the cleani

i'm raj mathai. >> i'm jessica aguirre. we begin with a story our investigative kbrunt continues to track. we're talking about the broken windows at san francisco's high-rises. last month's windstorm caused problems at six buildings in the city. one of the buildings is blaming the sinking and tilting millennium tower. but the city isn't buying it. >> reporter: last month glass rained down on the sidewalk at the salesforce east tower building. windows failed on a total of six buildings, prompting the city to order a full report on why. in its report, salesforce east blames its notorious neighbor, the 58-story millennium tower. it contends glass from a broken window on the millennium tower blew across the street, hitting and breaking salesforce east's upper floor windows. window consultant bill thomas is a four-decade veteran in the industry. he says the glass fragments would simply be too heavy to get blown that far, even in conditions like last momgt's massive windstorms. >> this magical glass has to fly from millennium ove
