i'm raj mathai. it is a new week and a new school year for thousands of bay area families. let's get you caught up on some of the headlines we are watching on this monday. the battle continues over driverless taxis in san francisco. two companies, waymo and cruise, want to expand service. but first responders are pushing back, saying those cars aren't ready for the real world. right now, waymo and cruise are operating the taxis only during certain hours of the day. they're essentially being capped. this thursday, state regulators are setet to vote onn a major expansion of t those operating hours. today public safety officials met with those state regulators to outline their concerns before that big vote. according to the san francisco fire department, crew members have had about 55 incidents since late last year. that includes cars that have blocked emergency vehicles at fire scenes, made unexpected stops right there on the street, and making it tough for fire trucks to get around them. >> understand and appreciate the safety that autonomous vehicles can bring to the table
