these islanders will be in raleigh on thursday to tangle the hurricanes as poti goes for a free skatepoti to the front. okposo finds it at his feet. okposo through center to scale in. they had close to 13,000 inside the coliseum tonight for nhl action. i would say about a quarter of those 13,000 remain. all that's left for washington is the shouting. they have a 7-2 advantage. park wrister. neuvirth may have got a stick on that. sutton steps in on the delay. andy sutton cross rink. late, slap pass looking for bergenheim. nothing there. >> craig: a top trio on the ice for this capitals team. probably to look for some individual accolades and get alexander semin the hat trick. disbroit memory serves, the caps with all their goals don't have an individual player with a hat trick this year. backstrom, wrister. right to dipietro. look out. >> craig: he wants this game over in a hurry, doesn't he? he's seen enough of this caps team. >> joe: he may carry one to the red line. sutton tied up along the wall. final 40 seconds of period three. caps post-game live coming up on comcast sportsnet. >

raleigh, n.c. caller: yes, thank you for c- span and for your panelist. i think the reason republicans are not calling in is we are still celebrating our victory in massachusetts and planning the victory in november when we stomp democrats. obama has to go and ben bernanke has to go. banks are hammering at the average joe. they have been hitting them with special charges, increasing interest rates, lowering credit worthiness arbitrarily. it is wrong. the whole thing is a sham. they really think the average american is stupid. they all gotta go. host: lots of calls about ben bernanke, they should think about the rest of the economic team. are there changes afoot? guest: lot of rumbling. a democrat from maryland said last night that she was leaning towards a ben bernanke because she had some tough talks with the white house, including telling them they need to shake up their economic team. she would not explain exactly, but the general sense is that treasury secretary tim geithner who is also the target of many both democratic and republican complains has t

let's hear first from raleigh, n.c., matthew on the democrats line. this might be old hat for the gentleman, but i would like him to express for the viewers what the geographical reality is in -- as far as leadership in kabul and the rest debt of a -- and the rf afghanistan and the kind of disconnect that exists and what we would like to see involved. guest: a good question. there are several aspects of the choice of people to be the afghan government. one is, as you say, but geographical representation. and here we do see in both the previous cabinet and the current cabinet an attempt to put people in cabinet positions from all over the country. a second aspect is the more sectarian and trouble representation. president karzai made some promises, of course, to some of his supporters during the campaign. this happens all over the world. this happens in democracies all over the world where you make promises to your campaign supporters. in this case, the promises were for cabinet positions. that means that there are some cabinet nominees -- as i just me

host: raleigh, north carolina, jim on the republican line. caller: thank you. i would just have to counter fred's argument and say that perhaps this election is somewhat like the shot heard around the world, the first election where the american populace and the voters are going to stand up and say no to the obama socialism machine. i just watch with curiosity. i just hope for the democrats say, they don't try to finagle some way to in june at this election or stall the installation of mr. brown if he gets elected because that will only look worse on them in 2010. so, i encourage all of the independent voters and the state of massachusetts to stand up for liberty and capitalism and say no -- obviously, they are. look at the poll numbers. the voters in massachusetts aren't a bunch of slouches. they know what is going on. and they are obviously on the side of liberty and i commend them and i encourage them to vote for brown. host: jim, did you contribute to state senator scott brown? caller: not financially. but i did sign up and do some volunteer phone calls. th
