so at this point ralph is pretty deflated. it strained his personal relationships, his legal fees were adding up and obviously this wasn't going to be good for your self-esteem. ralph is victorious in the courts in california but parker brothers decided to appeal to the supreme court, and at this point ralph needed a lawyer and he finds carl pearson who actually is still practicing here in new york city. he agrees to take the case on contingency. so it's the two of them working out of carl's, like, tiny office up against a who's who of the trademark lobby. but the supreme court refuses to hear the case, and ralph wins. and he wins his tight produce anti-monopoly. he wins a settlement for his damaged games, and he also wins the right to talk about the origins of the game. he had previously turned down a really massive settlement offer that was a lot of money, but he wouldn't have been able to talk about the history of the game pre-darrow. but victory's not enough. he and his friend russer, who there's a bad quality photo here,
