i want to bring back ramin nakisa.et's tell about credit risk and the bond markets, not really seeing much for the likes of marie pen coming into power. ramin nakisa: what we are telling our clients is to reduce duration in european softened bonds. people were overweight going to to ecb buying. people saying ecb is buying a huge amount of debt and that is going to push yields down. we disagree with that. the traditional argument stands against that. and growth is improving. inflation is rising. you look at the five year in europe, inflation is increasing. we think spreads are going to widen and we also think the yields are going to rise. in that kind of environment you do not want the sovereign market. jonathan: the long end is where you would rally? as cpi bottoms out and so should yields? is it that that is more significant or political risk? ramin nakisa: political risk for spain is much lower than for greece. the most important thing to look at its fundamentals for if growth arises that is a complete miss pricing.

good morning ramin. how are markets starting the day? >> very good morning to you, ai. a quick recap on u.s. stocks. investors seem to be really concerned been only the stronger dollar but the prospects of rising interest rates, which is why we saw the u.s. stocks trading lower. however, the nikkei and topix really look to be shrugging off any of that negativeness. so let's have a look at the opening levels here. 18,836. up 2/3 of a percent for the nikkei. and yesterday also the nikkei shrugged off the weakness on wall street and actually rose. domestic data also on machinery orders and corporate goods prices provided the positives. and we're seeing a continuation of that. right now the nikkei up over 100 points. in fact, an analyst i spoke to says with strong corporate profits, a current account surplus, robust exports and cheap oil prospects for japan look pretty solid going forward. now, further buying may also come on nikkei futures ahead of the expiry of march contracts on friday. so we're seeing the momentum building up. also the weaker yen against the dollar shou

ramin mellegard joins us from the tokyo stock exchange. good morning, ramin.are you seeing so far? >> a lot of focus on apple's wearable technology. and of course european central bank's quantitative easing moves which kicked off on monday. so let's have a look at the reaction here for the nikkei and the topix. for march 10th. and we're seeing both trading in the positive. actually, i can tell you the nikkei did pop above 18,900. the high was 924. it backed off a little bit. we'll see if we can get back above that. yesterday the nikkei closed down nearly 1%. the biggest loss in more than a month. investors becoming a little worried about japan's growth after the latest revised gdp figures for the last quarter of 2014 weren't as good as expected. now, however, the nikkei is taking its view from currency markets and of course growth prospects in the u.s. and with the dollar rising again against the yen we are seeing that positive result for the nikkei. we'll see how that develops. there's some concerns of course about the earlier than expected rate hike in the u
