the fire started this morning north of rancho cucamonga. it's burned through 100 acres of dry brush no homes threatened at this point. high fire danger warnings are posted for much of southern california today. the heat wave is adding to the high fire danger. let's check in with what we can expect here in the bay area. lawrence? >> the winds have been whipping in southern california. we have been checking our weather sites there and winds are gusting over 50 miles per hour. you can see it in simi valley, anaheim, orange. gusty winds there. in the bay area, calm winds. so our fire danger is not running high locally. but southern california still a problem there. all caused by this big ridge of high pressure that continues to sit overhead. it will bring with it those hot temperatures back into the 90s in some parts of the bay area with some records likely to fall today. when will this heat wave end? we'll have more on that coming up in a couple of minutes. back to you. >> thank you. >>> he has been in jail since december on molestation charge
