cnn's randi kaye is live in palm beach county, florida, leading the nation in new cases. things have gotten so bad in florida, mayors are shutting down beaches for the fourth of july weekend? >> reporter: yeah. and that is not good news, for a lot of folks here for a lot of reasons. not only the cases going up but people looking forward to beach time on the july 4th holiday weekend. here in palm beach county they decided to close the beach. this is a monday afternoon. you could see why. they want to avoid a spike on top of the spike. they don't want crowds coming to the beach here in palm beach county. it is the same reason broward has closed the beaches as well as miami-dade county. these three are where 60% of the coronavirus were so these are the hardest hit counties in the state so they're taking extra precautions and dialing things back and looking at young people, they don't want young people out and about because their numbers are going up. the governor said that 20% positivity rate is what they're seeing now in the age group 25 to 34. so very concerned about that.
