nbc 10's randy gyllenhaal is live for us in north philadelphia. randy, tell us what happened. >> well, running into the flames, trying to save lives, sends a 13-year-old boy and two philadelphia police officers here to temple hospital overnight. the good news, all of them expected to survive after running back into the flames. this fire broke out on sixth street, in a north philadelphia row home. some of the people living there jumped out of the windows to escape. others, we're told, ran on to neighbors rooftops. and during the heat of this fire, a 13-year-old boy and his brother ran back into the burning house, thinking that their cousins were trapped upstairs on the third floor. two philadelphia police officers followed them, looking to help. and all of them suffered some smoke inhalation and other injuries. we talked to that 13-year-old who ran back into the fire. take a listen. >> our neighbors came out with the fire extinguishers and everything and they started putting out the fire. we thought my little cousin was in there. >> that's all he h

randy gyllenhaal is live in whitehall township with some more for us. >> reporter: we are live here in this residential neighborhood, the 4700 block of main street in whitehall township. you can see officers and investigators are still on scene here. we're dealing with a few road closures in this stretch of main street. it's a drens shal neighbresiden and you can see the police cars and crime scene tape focused on this home. i'll show you video from overnight. a huge police response in this rural part of lehigh county. we have learned that pennsylvania state police are assisting the whitehall police department after an officer was shot and wounded. cameras spotted one person being taken on a stretcher into the ambulance. the investigation at this point very early, but authorities say whitehall police are handling the investigation. at this point we don't know the nature of the shooting. we just know an officer was shot. unclear what that officer was responding to here. we have reached out to chief marks with the whitehall township police department. waiting to hear back. we'll bring yo

randy is following those developments. he joins us live from temporariel's campus. a somber day on that campus. >> a sad day for students who will be coming here to remember one of this is classmates. we're learning new details of exactly how and where the body was discovered. a vigil happening here on temple's campus. that's happening at 3:30 p.m. organizers say the temple community will unite together to grieve. students will write letters to burleigh's family. there will be an open mike for students to reflect. investigators say burleigh was murdered by a man she met at a bar off temple aes campus. josh is accused of killing the temple transfer student and transporting her body up to wayne county. in court documents we've obtained, we've learned her body was hidden on a shed in the property on the suspect's grandmother. in fact, it was the grandfather of josh who discovered the victim's body and called philadelphia police. at this point, police have still mott released a motive for this killing, but that suspect is in custody and that vigil today here on temple's
