question the best , thing to prepare me for vietnam was rangers school. nothing i did in vietnam was as difficult physically or as mentally challenging other than making the right decision under fire than ranger. except for possibly delta or seal training, it was probably the toughest course the army had at the time. there were four seals in my ranger class, which is 2-67, and none of them finish the course. these are real guys from seal team 1.
