raskin took office last year. she was a commissioner of financial regulation for the state of maryland. she was responsible for regulating all types of financial institutions including banks, credit yields, mortgage lenders, and servicers, and trust companies among others. under her leadership, they play an early role in response to the financial crisis, including reforming the foreclosure process. loan modification and elevating licensing and lending standards. prior to serving as commissioner, she has a wealth of experience. she was the managing director of a financial group and served as a banking counsel for the u.s. senate. the governor worked in new york. and privilegeased to bet your joining us today. i am happy that you're from the state of maryland. thank you very much.
