all northbound lanes of "eye"-94 were shut down at rawson road because of the accident.... causing major delays. an autopsy on the victim is scheduled for tomorrow. 300 people are without a place to live after a fire rips through a whitewater apartment complex. the flames broke out at 6-30 last night at the university garden apartments. fox6's madeline anderson is live on the scene with an update on the the damage is most visible on this side of the complex. residents tell me they heard a loud boom and then a fire erupted in a common hallway and spread to the surrounding units. a father and his son were forced to jump out of a second story window to escape the flames and smoke. fortunately no one was injured... but at least three cats died. the whte there is about 500-thousand-dollars in damage to personal property and the buiding. right now, everybody is evacuated out of the building, our goal is to have everybody but 16 units back in the facility tonight. as we get the power in and the alarm systems back to code. the majority of folks living here are low- income families.
