that's what it was. >> what did you like with ray arcel? the relationship he has with robert duran. only his physical fitness. >> he was a cerebral guy, ray arcel, from what i found out. but very, you know, emotional about duran and about his fighters. he had over 20 champions and so, you know, he was a disciplined and as far as not eating certain things and taking care of himself and so on. this was his last great fighter. >> back to you. your daughter actually played your daughter in the movie? >> yes. >> what was it like working with her? >> it was good. >> a lot of pressure for her? were you easy on her? >> no i think that -- jonathan, the director, he likes to use people that he needs or, you know, some directors people they feel comfortable with and there is a built-in relationship of sorts. not really our relationship but there is something there. there is a comfort level and all that. i understand in some ways, i, as a director only two movies i did, but that somehow had the inclusion of done it here and there were people that contributed. a nice thing. >> as somebody who kn

you've made a few in your career, obviously "ranging bull," but you play ray arcel. >> yes. >> seth: a boxing trainer who you actually met during the making of "raging bull." is that right? >> i met him once or twice, yeah. and i was very impressed with him. guy, sort of refined and well-dressed, not the way you would imagine a trainer, a boxing trainer, the traditional boxing trainer as we somehow imagine -- not imagine, i've seen them. >> seth: sure. and talking about the way it presents, still, there's great detail in the film about, that he would comb duran's hair in between rounds. >> yeah, he was a hairdresser before that. >> seth: oh, he really -- was he really? >> no, i'm kidding. [ laughter ] >> seth: because that would be he think of, a lot of hair -- "i'm cutting hair now, but i want to be a boxing trainer." >> there you go. only my hairdresser knows for sure. and i, in fact, met -- when i was working on "raging bull," i met ray arcel once or twice. i was very impressed with him, because he was kind of a very elegant -- people call him like a banker. he did not look like the trainer that we're all used to seeing in, you know, for real, >> jimmy: but he was the first trainer to ever be inducted into the boxing hall of fame, right? >> yes. >> jimmy: that's amazing. >> i'm not sure about that. if he was, he was. >> jimmy: well, yeah. no, i -- [ laughter ] i said that. quote me. quote me on that, he didn't say it.
