i'm rebecca ritter's it's good to have you with us polls have just closed moments ago in armenia as a snap parliamentary elections reformist prime minister nicola passion pushed for the early ballot after a peaceful revolution swept into power earlier this year the prime minister is now seeking a strong the mandate from voters for his reform agenda he stepped down two months ago so polman could be dissolved to this election national road a wave of popular discontent and mass protests against corruption but the former ruling party still dominates the current parliament. for more i'm joined by journalist joshua cooke charities in the capital yerevan joshua what was the turnout for today's election. well as you said the polls just closed but we the latest data we have is now three hours old five pm local time at that point it was just under forty percent eligible voters had voted it was interesting is that that's down from fifty one percent in the last parliamentary elections last year most people i've talked to every survey did that to the fact that the former ruling party used to use s
