( james ) our top story this morning... the sweltering temperatures today could spell trouble for firefighters battling a brush fire in the south bay. they have it about half contained right now... and also have stopped its forward progress. the fire is burning in east san jose near quimby and mount hamilton roads. kron 4's hermela aregawi has the latest. ( rebecca ) that law is named after kate steinle who was shot and killed two years ago in san francisco by an undocumented immigrant. the law would increase maximum penalties for undocumented immigrants who re-enter the u-s illegally ... after being deported. critics of the bill say it criminalizes 'all' un-documented immigrants. aarti kohli, executive director asian law caucus. " it's been a long standing policy of anti-immigration legislators. an attempt to criminalize everyone who is undocumented and then say oh we're deporting criminal immigrants. it's tragic case, this bill wouldn't change anything that happened."
