the closer we got to the time to record american beauty. generally two years in between records. so i was a little overly relaxed about recording american beauty which had a completely different title and album cover and everything in the beginning of it but i waited till about a month before we were going to go into record and i started trying to put together some of the songs that i had all these little ideas recorded and when i started listening back to them i was like i don't like him these as i didn't like the lyrics i didn't like the music they just sounded on inspired in almost like i was trying to. reproduce what i did on the first two records. and i said ok i'm not going to panic so i spent two weeks trying to like readjust them rewrite them move some stuff around and then it was almost time to go into the studio and i was like. ok i've just put the brakes on it i was like i have to rewrite i have to rewrite the record i didn't want to let too much time go by i was trying to stay to that schedule of every two years putting a record out with the idea in mind that i would
