there are a couple of red flags. number one, you don't have much or anything left in your emergency fund. big red flag here. you need to aim for between 6 and 12 months of income stashed away. that may sound like too big of a goal. but consider this. most bankruptcies happened after a medical problem or job loss. so you have to prepare for the unexpected. >>> number two the publication main street lays out this scenario. you get the mail. there are two bills. you can only pay one at the home. >>> number three, you are making small and smaller credit card payments. the reason why, you can only pay the minimum. if this sounds like you, only use the credit card in emergencies. instead start paying for everything in cash. you may rethink certain purchases. let's say you find yourself in this situation, you have to make some changes. do you need that i phone? do you need that big expensive car? maybe you need to sell a house that you could be afford. it may sound harsh, so it is time to take these reality checks seriously
