first of all, you take a look at this red flag warning in the first thing you might notice is it's extended farther to the north. now it does include the interior portions of places like santa barbara. if you look at the hills there. >> the other thing you'll notice is this is called apds red-flag warning. so the red flag warning in general goes until wednesday 06:00pm. pds means potentially dangerous situation is not something you see the national weather service put out very often. but they have done it with this. starting at 04:00am on tuesday. so early tomorrow morning through noon on wednesday. that is because that is when they expect the worst of the wind to be taking hold. so that is obviously not a step in the right direction. now, here's the setup. and once again, you see high low pressure, very close together. those circulations coming together to provide more offshore wind. it's a little bit of a different look. but it's the same result that we still get this wind kicking up those areas in red. those areas in purple that you start to see. that's where those more brisk winds are going to be. and as we get into tonight, you see it pull

so if you take a look here, you can see where the red flag warnings are all the way from santa barbara down basically to the interior portions of san diego through 06:00pm on wednesday. but the area that's that pds, particularly dangerous situation that is in ventura county and western la county. and that also now has been extended through 06:00pm on wednesday. so that's really our time frame from where we can expect to see things get better after that time. what's happening right now? high pressure. as you can see, we're almost right on top of low-pressure and in between those 2 pressure systems that gradient tightened and now providing more offshore wind. that's what's happening and we're still in the process of that high pressure and low pressure still moving into that space where one is on top of the other. so this is what's happening there right now. santa clarita, you can see that wind is up there. virginia colony all the way out to oxnard. take a look at what happens as we go through the rest of the evening. we stay breezy. we wake up that way tomorrow. some of these spots showing, you know, 40 mile per hour
